Who wouldn’t read the fictional story of humanoid robots completely replacing humans and taking control of the World? Those kinds of stories would give us chills. But now, we are already in one-third of the 21st century, yet we only have some weak robots that can barely walk with the help of two legs. So, there’s no fear regarding robots taking the world in the upcoming decades, but things can change. BMW, one of the biggest car manufacturers has now included humanoid robots in their workforce.

Looks like a human, walk like a human, and can be given commands like a human, the only exception is, that these robots have censors everywhere in their bodies to detect the movement of their surroundings. These humanoid robots are manufactured by the company named ‘Figure’. Just started in 2022, the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company already collected 70 million from investors last year.

“We have designed the robot to be safe next to humans. Working with BMW on automation in a manufacturing facility is a huge validator for us in the space”, said Brett Adcock, The CEO of Figure.

These Robots will be assigned to BMW's plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the largest automotive exporter in the U.S., which currently employs 11,000 people. There this robot will be tested, and trained. If they find success then BMW will add more robots to their workforce.
